Writing for Children MFA adviser Caron Levis hosted An Evening with Writing for Children MFA Alumni on September 9, 2014. MFA alumni spanning from the class of 1999 to 2012 came out to share their successes and advice with current students.

Following the event, MFA alum Corey Ann Haydu had this to say on Twitter:

last night at New School event realized some of my love of this industry comes from the way we all come together to help each other.  — Corey Ann Haydu (@CoreyAnnHaydu) September 10, 2014

I was SO blessed with incredible support and mentors when I was in school. And now that I'm teaching, I try to pass on some part of that. — Corey Ann Haydu (@CoreyAnnHaydu) September 10, 2014

being at New School reminded me of how important that was to me. Having people believe in me. Go out of their way to help. — Corey Ann Haydu (@CoreyAnnHaydu) September 10, 2014
