Danler's debut novel Sweetbitter was published in May 2016 by A.A. Knopf. The novel—which began as her thesis at The New School's MFA in Creative Writing program under the tutelage of Helen Schulman—has been praised by critics from The New York Times, The Guardian, Publishers Weekly, and dozens of other publications.

Danler will return to The New School in September for a special Fiction Forum, moderated by Fiction Coordinator Helen Schulman. The event is free and open to all.
