TBF Logo Final 476Writing at The New School will be featured at the Texas Book Festival in Austin this year! Associate Director (and MFA nonfiction alum) Lori Lynn Turner will represent the program at the book fair on both days of the Festival, Saturday and Sunday, October 25 and 26, at booth 501.

Faculty and alumni of The New School will be well represented at events throughout the weekend festival. School of Writing professor Tiphanie Yanique will appear on a panel entitled "Constructing Racial Identity;" while MFA faculty member Darcey Steinke will appear on the panel "Growing Up Fast," on adolescent identity. Joining Steinke on that panel is Justin Taylor, MFA fiction alum, and author of the new short story collection Flings. MFA fiction alum Mira Jacob will appear at the festival as well, joining a reading hosted by Barnes and Noble called "Discover Great New Writers."  12th Street Journal advisory board chair Rene Steinke will be featured on a panel celebrating Texas-based fiction, called "Homegrown."
