The New York City Poetry Festival is a two-day festival showcasing the diverse, talented, and dedicated group of poets who make their home in New York City. Founded in 2011 by New School MFA poetry alumni Stephanie Berger ('08) and Nicholas Adamski ('07), the festival brings together over 250 poets to read, share, and celebrate poetry on three stages. The festival also includes a book fair, a children's area, and food vendors from across the city.
The New School MFA program has had a large presence from the beginning, but this year more than ever! More then 20 MFA alumni will grace the stages of the festival, along with faculty members Sharon Mesmer and John Reed.
Alumni featured during the 2014 festival include Nicholas Adamski, Liz Axlerod, Lisa Marie Basile, Stephanie Berger, Graeme Bezanson, Sylvia Bonilla, Jackie Clark, Shanna Compton, Amy Leigh Cutler, Sean Damlos-Mitchell, John Deming, Gabriel Don, B.
