JOB/INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY: WRITOPIA LAB
Deadline to Apply: ASAP
Writopia Lab (www.writopialab.org), a nonprofit organization that holds creative writing workshops for kids ages 6-18, is seeking employees and summer interns. They accept applicants with majors or minors--or a strong background in--English, Literature, Creative Writing, or Education. Job opportunities range from creative writing workshop and graphic novel instructors and private essay-writing tutors. WORKSHOP OPPORTUNITY: TENT: CREATIVE WRITING 
Deadline to Apply: March 13, 2017 
Located at the Yiddish Book Center in Amherst, Massachusetts, Tent: Creative Writing is a free week of workshops, literary seminars, and conversations for twenty writers of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry in their twenties and early thirties who are curious about connections between Jewishness and contemporary culture. CONTEST: THE NELLIGAN PRIZE FOR SHORT FICTION
Deadline to Apply: March 14, 2017
Colorado State University sponsors this prize through the Colorado Review, and awards $2000 and publication to the winner. There are no theme restrictions, but entries must be over 2500 words to qualify. Judged by Richard Bausch, all submissions will be considered for publication. More details here.

CONTEST: NEW SOUTH PROSE AND POETRY CONTEST
Deadline to Submit: March 15, 2017
New South's contest awards $1,000 to one winner in poetry and one winner in prose, and a $250 runner’s up prize in each category. Your $15 entry fee also includes a subscription to New South, and all entries are considered for publication. The contest is open to writers who have not yet published a book of prose or poetry (chapbooks are okay). Submit here.

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: SOUTHEAST REVIEW
Deadline to Apply: March 15, 2017
The Southeast Review’s 2017 contests are now open! Three contests; The World’s Best Short-Short Story Contest, The Southeast Review Gearhart Poetry Contest and The Southeast Review Narrative Nonfiction Contest will be accepting submissions. The grand prize in each category is $1,000 and publication. More information here.

CONTEST: UNSOLICITED PRESS
Deadline to Apply: March 15, 2017
Unsolicited Press is looking for nonfiction essays of ANY length, and on any subject. The grand prize winner will secure a book contract with Unsolicited Press to publish a work of nonfiction that is either an extension of the submitted essay or of a different topic entirely. The top 15 essays will be selected to be a part of a nonfiction essay anthology, which will receive global distribution. More details here.

Cricket Media is accepting submissions of flash fiction for its literary magazines for children and teens. Flash fiction submissions are considered on a rolling basis, but Cricket also accepts folktales, fiction, nonfiction, and poetry submissions for slew of specialty issues. Palaver is UNCW’s online interdisciplinary journal housed in the Graduate Liberal Studies Program. Palaver seeks creative and academic submissions that defy the confines of a single discipline. INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY: THE IRENE GOODMAN AGENCY
Deadline to Apply: ASAP
Prestigious literary agency, The Irene Goodman Agency, is seeking a Spring/Summer intern for academic credit. Job requirements include reading and evaluating manuscripts, writing editorial letters and readers reports, researching comp titles, etc. The intern will learn about agenting, submitting, editorial, scouts, royalties, contracts, and will be invited to attend AAR toolboxes and events. CONTEST: BLACK LAWRENCE PRESS HUDSON PRIZE
Deadline to Submit: March 31, 2017
Each year Black Lawrence Press will award The Hudson Prize for an unpublished collection of poems or short stories. Manuscripts should be 45-95 pages in length (poetry) or 120-280 pages in length (fiction). The winner of this contest will receive book publication, a $1,000 cash award, and ten copies of the book. CONTEST: THE PRAIRIE SCHOONER BOOK PRIZE
Deadline to Submit: March 15, 2017
The Prairie Schooner Book Prize Series welcomes manuscripts in poetry and fiction from writers, including non-US citizens, writing in English. Both unpublished and published writers are welcome to submit manuscripts. Winners will receive $3000 and publication through the University of Nebraska Press. Details here.

RESIDENCY OPPORTUNITY: THE KEROUAC PROJECT
Deadline to Apply: March 12, 2017
Writers living anywhere in the world can apply for one of the four residencies offered by the Kerouac Project. Each winner gets to stay at Jack Kerouac’s home in Orlando for three months, with a $1000 food stipend, and an offer to interact with workshops and readings in the Orlando area. Details here.
