Creative Writing at The New School

2020 book publications by MFA Creative Writing alumni.

The New School Creative Writing Program is proud to announce its list of 2020 alumni and faculty book publications. This year, 24 books have been published by alumni of the MFA in Creative Writing Program, 1 book has been published by alumni of the Continuing Education Program, and 6 books have been published by faculty of the Creative Writing Program.

The list includes publications from the “Big Four” publishing houses, university presses, and independent publishers. All four genres of study offered by the MFA in Creative Writing Program are represented: fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and writing for children and young adults.

Every year, the Creative Writing Program celebrates these authors with its annual book party at the Theresa Lang Center, but due to the social restrictions of COVID 19 we were unable to celebrate in person this year.

Congratulations to all! *If you published a book this year or know of a fellow MFA alumni who published a book, please let us know by emailing and we will add you to this list.
