Creative Writing at The New School

The Summer Writers Colony 2014 at The New School brought together a tremendous group of students, faculty, visiting instructors, and visiting authors. For 3 weeks, students studied Nonfiction, Fiction, and Poetry in workshops with Madge McKeithen, Sharon Mesmer, and Kathleen Ossip, respectively. Students also attended Literary Salons taught by Laura Cronk, Karen McKinnon, and Andrew Zornoza, as well as the workshop faculty, and attended craft sessions with the likes of Matthew Burgess, Lauren Cerand, Lisa Freedman, Josh Getzler, Francis Lam, Dan Magers, John Reed, Susan Shapiro, and Jenny Zhang, among others.

Visiting authors for Summer 2014 included some of the most gifted authors writing today: Alysia Abbott, Roger Bonair-Agard, CA Conrad, Jennifer Egan, Zadie Smith, and Lynne Tillman.
